Fillies and Lilies - The Kentucky Oaks

Today is the day! I ran around all day yesterday to pick up ribbon and flowers - leave it to me to change my mind at the last minute.

Here are some pictures I snapped while putting it together
Folding the ribbon for more texture.

Playing with tulle and lily placement
Still needs something...

Can't wait to wear it!

Etsy: Featured Gemstone of the Week

Like I've mentioned before, I am selling quite a few supplies on Etsy. As of right now I just have gemstones up, but have a long list of findings and finished jewelry pieces to add.

Once a week I will feature one of my favorite items I have listed...And this week is...

Madagascar Carnelian Puff Coins

* Madagascar Carnelian is an orange stone with lighter and darker swirls mixed in. It reminds me of a beautiful summer sunset. It's one of my favorite gemstones - I reach for it most often.

*Can be mixed with red coral for a light and summery piece or with smokey quartz and deep greens for the fall or winter.

*12mm round; puff coin with rounded edges

*lightweight and smooth.

Check out Etsy here for more pictures and ideas on what to make with this stone!

Pinning on Pinterest

When I was younger, I loved cutting inspirational pictures out of a magazine and pin them up to a cork board. In fact, I even decorated those plain old push pins with fun buttons to make my board even more special. These days, I do more blog browsing then magazine reading, but I still find tons of images that I'd love to pin up to my cork board.

In walks Pinterest.  It's this amazing new website that catalogues any and every image you want. Basically a virtual pin board!  It's easy to view other peoples "boards" for images and then pin it to your own.  What's even cooler is that you can pin images from any website and add it to your own board.

Makes organizing fun and blogging so much easier.

I recently pinned these pictures..Follow me - Kate4294

Designer: Laurel Denise

inspire

I first fell in love with Laurel Denise's sweet jewelry line when I spotted her glass collection at a Hoboken Street fair. Her pieces were simple yet meaningful.  Each small glass shape had just a few words or a saying etched on, but stirred up strong emotions and happy memories.
